In Japan pickled radish is called Takuan. As opposed to traditional for us taste of radish, Takuan taste is more delicate and sweetish.
In Japanese cuisine Takuan is:
- a traditional appetizer served with sushi and sashimi;

- when radish slices are added to soy sauce, it makes it more savory and pleasant;
